About The Author

The Settlement Game: How to Settle an Estate Peacefully and Fairly
by Angie Epting Morris, daughter of Attorney E.A.Epting, Athens, Georgia.

From her childhood Angie recalls many stories her father would tell around the dinner table about families who were fighting over the division of furniture and personal property when dividing an estate. He often pointed out to us that: "people sometimes throw away their lifelong relationships over things of such little value," - and then he would go on to give advice about ways families could avoid such conflict and heartache.

When her parents passed away, Angie and her siblings faced the task of settling their estate. By putting to use the advice of their father, they were able to accomplish this with remarkable success. They actually became better friends than before, and now, many years later, they remain close still.

A Letter from Angie Epting Morris

Dear Reader,

Have you ever had to settle an estate? Have you ever been asked to suggest ways to divide furniture and personal property in an estate settlement? Have you thought about what might happen when your children try to settle your estate someday?

Finally - Discover a PROVEN SYSTEM OF ORGANIZATION both used and recommended by Attorneys and Financial Planners for dividing furniture and personal property of an estate. This system will also help to preserve family relationships in the process. In addition, it tackles the overwhelming task of "cleaning out the house" through a system of organization that gets this accomplished in record time - without making costly mistakes and it helps avoid the heartache of "tossed out treasures".

Most wills make some specific requests or designations about the larger or more valuable items in an estate, but the furniture and personal property such as household goods - (the "little" stuff) - is usually just lumped together in a broad statement at the end of the will, - something like: ". . . and all 'other' property to be divided equally among my heirs." But the problem is: Who really knows HOW to divide everything "equally"?

THE SETTLEMENT GAME is a step-by-step guide for settling "ANY" estate, regardless of the size. It provides a systematic method for doing so - both "peacefully AND fairly". My PROVEN SYSTEM has been in use for over a decade. Through my book and associated line of products, you can learn how to navigate through the "Division WITHOUT Divisiveness". This can help to make a very difficult task much easier. I'm certain that this will help you, - and when it does, I sincerely hope you will contact me to tell me YOUR success story.

Yours truly,

Angie Epting Morris

The book's FOREWORD was written by Judge Griffin Bell, former United States Attorney General. Here's why - He wrote the Foreword because he said: "This system provides a common-sense solution to an age old problem."

Angie's Bio

Angie graduated from the University of Georgia in 1968 with a B.S. Degree in geography, and a specialty in cartography (i.e., map- making). This led to employment as a professional cartographer for the Dept. of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. There she had a blind date with Carter Morris, a young Naval Officer from Augusta, Ga. who was also serving as a White House Military Social Aide. They married in 1972.

A few months later they moved back to Georgia, to make their home in Evans outside of the Augusta area. They have lived there since, raising their two sons, Hunter & Taylor, now grown. Carter became a high school teacher and coach. Angie taught high school English & geography for 3 years before opening a retail travel agency in Augusta - Morris Travel, which they operated for many years.

Angie adapted a course of instruction and opened a state accredited travel school to train travel industry personnel, which she operated simultaneously with the agency. These experiences add to Angie's qualifications as a teacher - only now instead of English or Geography or Travel, she instructs others on her system of organization for "How to Settle an Estate Peacefully and Fairly". She has become recognized as an expert in teaching families how to keep peace and avoid conflict when going through this inevitable process. She gives clear instructions about WHAT to do, as well as HOW through her step- by-step guide, detailed in her book: THE SETTLEMENT GAME: How to Settle an Estate Peacefully and Fairly. The book even includes all forms needed for the settlement process, along with permission to reprint them as needed.
